My name is Jacob Jones. I am a lighting designer and programmer based out of the outskirts of St. Louis, Missouri. I specialize in live events, concert touring, corporate events, theatrical events and creative lighting installations for venues. I have dedicated my life to stage lighting, following my passion all the way from my beginnings as a freshman in high school on backstage crew. The feeling of collaborating with creative people and using production technologies to put on an incredible show never gets old. My passion for lighting started my freshman year of high school. I had heard nothing of our school's theatre program, but always wanted to be the one making the show look good. I signed up to shadow the current board op, and was quickly sent back to be a stagehand backstage. I was not the happiest to say the least, but still just did what I could to learn more. Fast forward to the next show, I signed up to shadow again and finally got the position. I then proceeded to shadow and watch my Tehnical Director and board op program and run shows such as Les Miserables, Newsies, and A Christmas Story. After our board op graduated, it was all up to me. After watching them work for so many shows, I had known all the basics of the console (ETC Element) that we had. And ever since then in 2019, I've been designing and programming all shows ever since, even after my own graduation.
Services
I offer full design and visualizations to clients, with a high res visualizer to show you what your stage would look like with my design for all types of events, such as touring production, Music Festivals and concerts, Fairs, and coorperate or private events. I specialize in live music, dance productions, and theatrical productions.
I’ll guide you and your team through every step of the design journey, whether you are just beginning to explore your options or you need to execute a specific vision to help you tell the story of the show. The components of what I offer include, 3D pre-visualization, Lighting Programming, Pixel Mapping, Equipment Lists and Patch Lists, and of course work with you to make a budget work!
